Portlaoise Town Bus Services

City Direct operates two new routes on behalf of Transport for Ireland.

New Routes

The new routes are:

• PL1 – Colliers Lane – Borris Road – JFL Avenue – Portlaoise Train Station – Mountmellick Road – Woodgrove
• PL2 – Kilminchy – Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise – St Fintan’s Hospital – JFL Avenue – Portlaoise Train Station – Harpurs Lane – IDA Business & Technology Park – Bellingham

Routes PL1 and PL2 operate seven days a week, approximately every 30 minutes. They will overlap between Portlaoise Train Station and St Peter & Pauls Church (Stradbally Road/ Borris Road) via JFL Avenue, providing an approximate 15 minute frequency on this section.

Routes PL1 and PL2 provide early morning and late evening services to Portlaoise Train Station to facilitate travel between Portlaoise and Dublin, Cork and Limerick.

Routes PL1 and PL2 provide improved connectivity to Portlaoise Town Centre and Laois Shopping Centre, with PL2 also providing improved connectivity to Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, St Fintan’s Hospital and IDA Business & Technology Park. PL1 and PL2 will also provide improved connectivity to the wider TFI bus network.
