- Use the National Journey Planner to help you get from A to B this Christmas. All you have to do is type in your destination and the Journey Planner will tell you the best way to get there!
- Avail of cheaper fares with Leap Card, the hassle free way to pay for your public transport trips.
- If you take two or more trips on any of Dublin Bus, Luas or DART/Commuter Rail within 90 minutes of each other, a “Leap90 Discount”of €1 will be automatically applied to the second and subsequent fares (75c discount for child). You can also hop around the City Centre on Dublin Bus for a Leap Card fare of €0.60 (75c cash).
- Park the car in one of six Luas Park & Ride locations, or Iarnród Éireann’s car parks and take rail to the city centre, avoiding the traffic jams along the way.
- Take public transport where you can this Christmas, and avoid traffic congestion. If you’re using the car, use it safely and responsibly. Keep an eye on updates from Operation Open City and visit the Road Safety Authority website for advice on staying safe on our roads this Christmas.
- If you’re planning a night out over the festive season, plan ahead and familiarise yourself with the late night services that are operating. If you’re taking a taxi, book one in advance.
- There’s never been more to do in Dublin at Christmas! Keep an eye on dublinatchristmas.ie for information about activities and events.
- To ensure you get a seat on a particular Christmas service, book your tickets in advance where possible, to avoid disappointment.
- Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann services are monitored by CCTV, and there is a security presence on Luas and DART services this Christmas. We would still advise passengers on all transport services to keep your belongings safe and secure at all times.
- If you’re out cycling or walking in the dark, always remember to be safe and seen by wearing high visibility clothingand equipping your bike with lights etc.
