Enhanced route 196 will now operate a seven day a week service
TFI Local Link Louth Meath Fingal is enhancing bus services from Knocksedan to Swords from Sunday the 3rd of December.
This enhancement is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as part of the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Network.
Route 196 will now operate on Sundays providing seven daily return services from Swords to Knocksedan, with two of these services extending to St. Margaret’s. The enhanced route will continue to operate fourteen daily return services operating on Monday to Saturday from Swords to Knocksedan, with four of these services extending to St. Margaret’s.
Along with the new Sunday service, the route will provide peak-time and evening services for commuters and will continue to provide enhanced connectivity to Rivermeade, Swords Nursing Home, Swords Village and Swords Pavilions.
Speaking ahead of the launch, TFI Local Link Louth Meath Fingal Deputy Manager, Deirdre Murtaugh said: “We are delighted to announce the addition of Sunday and Bank Holiday services, making this route a seven day a week service for the people living in the Knocksedan to Swords area.
“It will provide greater connectivity for people who travel to work, education, training, shopping, and social activities.”
