Bus Éireann, is pleased to announce significantly enhanced services and timetables on Route 424, Galway to Leitir Mealláin which will come into effect on Sunday, 17 December.
The significantly enhanced Route 424 is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan, which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as part of the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Network.
Route 424, Galway to Leitir Mealláin, will provide a significantly increased service and frequency across the week with expanded hours of operation, Monday to Sunday.
The enhanced service will provide 20 round trips Monday to Saturday and greater than double the frequency on Sunday with 16 round trips offering passengers greater connectivity with Galway Ceannt Station and Leitir Mealláin.
Bus Éireann Route 424 will serve Galway, Bearna, Na Forbacha, An Spidéal, Indreabhán, Ros an Mhíl, Casla, An Cheathrú Rua, Leitir Mealláin.
“Bus Éireann is delighted to introduce these improved services between Galway and Leitir Mealláin which will see significantly improved frequency and expanded hours of operation throughout the week. With early departures beginning at 6.00am in both directions and last departure from Leitir Mealláin at 11.30pm Monday to Saturday. Sundays will see a 6.15am departure from Leitir Mealláin, and final departures of 10.00pm in both directions,” said Brian Connolly, Bus Éireann, Senior Operations Manager, West. “Thanks to the National Transport Authority, through the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan, we have added almost 1.8 million kilometres to our network this month, creating over 58 new jobs, this enhanced service will enable us to connect our growing number of customers with who and what matters to them.”
