Luas is Dublin city’s Light Rail Transit System (tram). It operates two lines:
Luas Red Line has 32 Stops. It runs from Tallaght to The Point and from Saggart to Connolly.
Luas Green Line has 35 Stops. It runs from Brides Glen to Broombridge via the City centre.

There is no service on Christmas Day.
Services regularly run every 3 to 4 minutes at peak times and every 15 minutes at night.
Both lines have Park and Ride and Cycle and Ride facilities.

Luas does not work off a timetable system but you can check out real time information for any stop here. The Luas website will be updated on the live service updates and disruptions page if there are any disruptions to the service.
There is an option on the Luas website to view live service information. The TFI Live App also lets you check when your next Luas service is due.
A valid Luas Ticket, Valid Pass, or TFI Leap Card validated at Luas Stop is required to use Luas. Ticket Machines are located at every stop. Please note that tickets cannot be purchased on the trams.

There is no Student or Young Adult Fare applicable for Single and Return tickets. Single tickets are valid 90 mins from time of issue, for one trip only. No breaks in journey are permitted. Return tickets are valid for outward and return travel on day of issue only. The first trip must be completed within 90 mins from time of issue.

Luas Tax Saver Monthly & Annual Ticket information is available on the Luas website. Luas and Bus and/or Rail Monthly & Annual Taxsaver Ticket information is available on the TaxSaver website.
Persons 66 years and over can apply to the Department of Social Protection for a Public Services Card with Free Travel. Click here for further information.
You can save nearly 32% more on a TFI Leap Card then paying a cash fare and 50% when using a TFI Young Adult/ Student Leap Card. You can also avail of the TFI 90 Minute Fare and fare capping when using a leap card.
The card stores your Travel Credit each time you Touch On and Touch Off on your journey. Discounts are applied automatically as you touch on and off along your journey. Don’t forget to Touch On using a platform Validator before you get on a tram and Touch Off after.

You can switch between the two Luas lines at these stops – Abbey Street, O’Connell GPO and Marlborough Street. This makes for easy access to Saggart, Tallaght, Connolly Station or The Point (3Arena) from the Green Luas Line.
This is useful for passengers on the Red Line as it gives them easy access to Broombridge, Cabra, Phibsborough and all of Luas Green Line stops out as far as Brides Glen.
