| WHEELS OF ATHENRY – ATHENRY CYCLEFEST ’24
Building on the success of previous Bike Weeks in Athenry, CycleFest ‘24 will be an accessible afternoon full of cycling, fun and prizes! Scheduled for the beginning of the week, we aim to kick off Bike Week in Galway with a bang! There’ll be bubbles, a cycle photo booth, face painting for the younger kids who can safely cycle around the park on their balance bikes and trikes during our *Wee Wheelers* event. Has your bike been in the back of the shed for too long? Never fear, bring it along and we’ll have our experienced mechanic on hand to give it a Bike to Basics health check. The afternoon’s grand finale is our annual Athenry Pedal Parade at 3pm starting at the Community Park. Join us for a leisurely spin around the streets of our historic town. We’ll have prizes for the best dressed bikes and riders. But don’t worry, if you don’t have time to decorate your bike beforehand we’ll have a Glam Your Bike station to make sure it looks the part for the parade! Time: 13.00 – 17.00 pm Date: Saturday 11th May 2024 Location: Athenry Community Park Suitability: Young and older children. The venue will provide for a safe off-road cycle loops in the park. |

| HEADFORD WOMENS CYCLE CLUB – PICNIC ON THE PIER SPIN
Gentle 15km round trip from Moyne Villa to Kilbeg Pier, and back. Picnic & a cuppa on the pier provided. Must provide own bike & helmet in good working order. The event takes place on public roads so rules of the road must be adhered to. Time: 9.15 am – 1 pm Date: Monday 13th May 2024 Location: Moyne Villa Church Rd, Headford, Co. | CLOUGHANOVER NS CYCLE TO SCHOOL BUS
A fun inclusive activity to encourage the school population to cycle to school where possible by showing them they have the skills and ability to do so in the supported manner of a community organised cycle to school bus. | SCOIL MHUIRE – SUPER HERO CYCLE TO SCHOOL
Students dress up as Super Heroes and cycle to school in conjunction with MÓR Action – Cycling group in Oranmore. Cycle routes set up for 2 days of Bike Week. Meet students at the start and pick others up along the way to cycle to school. A Fun way to cycle with a twist – 15 Seater Bike – which can play music with seat belts. A fun and different way to cycle and have fun for both students and staff to experience.
