TFI Local Link Donegal Sligo Leitrim is enhancing bus services between Manorhamilton and Carrick-on-Shannon from Monday the 26th of August.
This enhancement is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as part of the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Network.
Routes 567A and 567 will be amalgamated to create one continuous route from Manorhamilton to Carrick-on-Shannon. Route 567 will now operate ten daily return services between Carrick-on-Shannon and Drumshambo Monday to Sunday, with four daily return services extending to Manorhamilton. The enhanced service will also operate two additional evening services on Friday and Saturday.
The route will offer enhanced connectivity to regional bus and rail services as well as to villages and areas such as Dromahair, Drumkeeran, Arigna and Leitrim Village.
The existing route deviations to Dowra and Keshkerrigan will be removed from Route 567 and will be replaced with route 11319. New route 11319 will provide a service from Dowra to Carrick-on-Shannon six days per week and an enhanced service from Drumcong, Keshkerrigan to Carrick-on-Shannon.
Speaking ahead of the launch, TFI Local Link Donegal Sligo Leitrim General Manager, Fiona O’ Shea said: “We are delighted to roll out this enhanced service in Leitrim, under the NTA’s Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan.
“Route 567, which has been in operation for a number of years, will now have increased daily frequency along with evening services on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, which will be well received by the local communities along the route.
“This service continues to provide local residents with access to education, employment, health, social and recreational opportunities and onward travel from early morning to late evening.”
