TFI Local Link Donegal Sligo Leitrim is enhancing bus services from Donegal to Sligo from Monday the 16th of October.

Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan

This enhancement is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as part of the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Network.

Servicing Ballyshannon, Bundoran, Tullaghan, Mullaghmore, Cliffoney, Grange, Maugherow, Carney, and Sligo

Route 982 will now operate seven daily return services Monday to Sunday from Sligo to Mullaghmore with five daily return trips extending from Mullaghmore to Ballyshannon. The route will continue to connect villages and areas such as Ballyshannon, Bundoran, Tullaghan, Mullaghmore, Cliffoney, Grange, Maugherow, Carney and Sligo.

The enhanced route will also provide improved morning and peak-time services seven days a week for commuters, as well as enhanced connectivity to the Wild Atlantic Way and regional bus and rail services in Sligo.

Speaking ahead of the launch, TFI Local Link Donegal Sligo Leitrim General Manager, Fiona O’ Shea said:  “We are delighted to announce new enhancements to the 982 Ballyshannon to Sligo service.”

“The higher frequency seven days per week will provide a vital level of connectivity for passengers, which they can rely on to travel to work, social events, colleges, training, accessing the Wild Atlantic Way or connecting to rail services in Sligo.”
