The National Transport Authority (NTA) has today published the results of passenger surveys conducted in 2022 and 2023 at the departure gates of our state and regional airports.
In November 2022, the National Transport Authority (NTA), in conjunction with the DAA (formerly known as the Dublin Airport Authority) and the Shannon Airport Authority (SAA), conducted surveys of air passengers at departure gates at the three state-owned Airports: Dublin, Cork and Shannon.
The 2022 survey took into consideration the changes in the airport environment, including the impact of Covid-19 and Brexit, as well as the introduction of new carriers. The aim of this research was to collect essential travel data to form a part of the calibration and update of the National Transport Authority’s Regional Modelling System (RMS), as well as other research on surface accessibility to each of these airports.
In February 2023, the NTA conducted surveys of air passengers at three Regional Airports in Ireland: Donegal (often referred to as Carrickfinn), Ireland West (often referred to as Knock Airport), and Kerry (near Farranfore).
The design of this research took into consideration the changes in the airport environment, including the impact of Covid-19 and Brexit, as well as the introduction of new carriers. The aim of this research was to collect essential travel data to form a part of the calibration and update of the National Transport Authority’s Regional Modelling System (RMS), as well as other research on surface accessibility to each of these airports.
