The National Transport Authority (NTA) has launched a public consultation seeking feedback on proposed bus service improvements along the Graiguenamanagh – Kilkenny corridor. The proposals aim to enhance connectivity to public transport services in the area. The consultation will be open for submissions until 5pm on Friday 15th of November.

The proposed improvements on the Graiguenamanagh – Kilkenny route focus on increasing bus frequency and improving access to reliable public transport for rural residents. These changes will provide better connections to key destinations in the region.

The proposals include plans to introduce a new seven-day week service between Graiguenamanagh and Kilkenny, which will serve Borris, Goresbridge, Gowran and Clara. The proposed service will operate up to four return journeys a day, offering enhanced service levels and extended operating hours.

The proposed service will also improve connections to other services in the area including Routes 4, 881, 882 and 887.

Integrated Ticketing

The new services will be integrated with the TFI Go app for convenient journey planning.

Also, Free Travel Passes will be accepted on the new services.

Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan

These proposed enhancements are part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan, a national initiative aimed at strengthening rural public transport as part of the Transport for Ireland Network (TFI). The plan, which is developed and funded by the National Transport Authority, is aligned with the goals of Project Ireland 2040 and the Climate Action Plan.
