The National Transport Authority (NTA), in partnership with Bus Éireann, are set to launch a new bus service, Route 31, which will begin operation on Sunday, 27 April 2025.
This new route is designed to improve reliability and accessibility for commuters, students, and visitors, connecting Knockraha to Parnell Place Bus Station in Cork City.
Route 31 will serve several key locations along the way, including Crestfield and Hazelwood Shopping Centres, Glanmire Business Park, Glanmire Community College, and John O’Callaghan Park.
Replacing the journeys previously provided on Route 214 to serve Knockraha, the new service will offer increased frequency, running every 90 minutes with nine daily return trips, up from five previously.
The service will operate seven days a week, providing enhanced transport options for both weekdays and weekends.
In addition to serving local communities, Route 31 will offer valuable connections to Kent Station and Parnell Place, supporting access to commuter and inter-city rail services as well regional and city bus services. Customers can interchange at Kent Station to route 205 for trips to Cork University Hospital, University College Cork and Munster Technical University.
