A tour to discover river sources around the south of Cork city – Adult Only River Cycle, on 13th May from 1.30pm.
By combining cycling with the discovery of several Cork rivers sources, we can better appreciate the birth and life of a river.
The tour proceeds parallel to the Bandon Road to St James’ cemetery (Glasheen source), before ascending to the back of the airport (Twopot source), then proceeding around the airport perimeter (Tramore source) before dropping down to the Kinsale road (Tramore source). We then retrace our route slightly, before stopping for refreshments. Following this, we descend back to Cork using the old Kinsale road and the cycle path to the Kinsale roundabout. Cycle routes then head east, west and north for each cyclist. Distance 13.3km, Ascent 237m, Descent 239m
Meeting at Circle K Petrol station, Bandon Road.
