RDJ Dublin City Triathlon is taking place on Saturday 24 August, 2024

  • Sprint (TI National Series), Standard, Aqua-Bike and Try-A-Tri races all taking place.
  • The race HQ will be located at the Garda Boat Club on Chapelizod Road.
  • The swim takes place in the Upper Liffey
  • followed by a bike course taking in the scenic Phoenix Park
  • and finishing with a unique run course along Chapelizod Road taking in the Donore Harriers running track.

Registration will take place in race HQ at the Garda Boat Club on Chapelizod Road.
There are two opportunities to register for the race.
● Friday 23rd August – 16:00 and 20:00 (strongly recommended)
● Saturday 24th August – 07:00 and 08:30

Races begin from 8:50am

Parking

No parking in the Garda Boat Club or on the footpath outside on Friday or Saturday. Parking will be available at St Brendan’s GAA Club.

 

 

Transport Advice

Diversion on Route 26

Dublin City Triathlon from 08.30hrs until 14.30hrs on Saturday 24 August 2024, Chapelizod Road will be closed. As a result, the following diversions will be in place on Route 26.

Route 26
Towards Merrion Square

Normal route to Lucan Road, divert via Kylemore Road, Ballyfermot Road, Sarsfield Road, Chapelizod Bypass, South Circular Road, Conyngham Road and back on to normal route.
Bus stops 2244, 2245, 2246, 2247, 2248, 2249, 2250 and 2251 will not be in use during this time. Please proceed to stops 2243 Glenaulin, Lucan Road or 1472 Conyngham Road, Bridgewater House for your nearest stop location.

Towards Liffey Valley
Normal route to Conyngham Road, divert via South Circular Road, Con Colbert Road, Chapelizod Bypass, Palmerstown and back on to normal route.
Bus stops 2191, 2192, 2193, 2194, 2195, 2196, 2197, 2198 and 2200 will not be in use during this time. Please proceed to stops 1451 Bridgewater House, Conyngham Road or 2201 Palmerstown Drive, Lucan Road for your nearest stop location.

Parking

No parking in the Garda Boat Club or on the footpath outside on Friday or Saturday. Parking will be available at St Brendan’s GAA Club.

The official DCT car park is St Brendan’s GAA Club which is immediately adjacent to the Garda Boat Club. Spaces are limited to the first 250 cars.
If you are parked in the St Brendan’s GAA Club, you will not be able to leave until the last runner is off the run course.
Parking is not possible on Chapelizod Road between Chapelizod gate and the Islandbridge gate. Any cars parked here will be towed by Gardai.
Alternative parking options can be found

  • in the Phoenix Park
    • such as Civil Service Cricket Club,
    • The Papal Cross Car Park
    • or Lords Walk Car Park.
  • There is also parking available in the War Memorial Gardens.

Road closure
The Chapelizod road will be closed to traffic between Islandbridge and Mullingar House
from 08:30 to 14:00

Heuston station is 35 minute walk to / from Garda Boat Club on Chapelizod Road.

Travel to the Heuston stop then 30 minute walk to Garda Boat Club on Chapelizod Road.
