Fleadh Cheoil

Wexford town – Sunday 4th to Sunday 11th August

Due to the annual Fleadh Cheoil na Éireann taking place in Wexford Town from Sunday 4th August through to Sunday 11th August 2024 inclusive, the line between Wexford and Rosslare will be closed for the duration of the event.

As a result the following service alterations and amendments will take place:

  • A train service will operate between Dublin Connolly and Wexford
  • Bus transfers will operate between Enniscorthy, Wexford and Rosslare on all regular services between the 4th and 11th August (with the exception of the 05:50 Gorey to Connolly from 6th to 9th August)
  • A number of additional services will also operate between Connolly and Wexford and Wexford and Arklow in both directions. Please check our Journey Planner for details.
  • Booking in advance is essential to avoid disappointment as space is limited
Wexford Town O’Hanrahan train station

A Traffic Management Plan will be in place during the Fleadh which will result in several road closures and restrictions.

There are numerous car parks in place on the outskirts of Wexford Town with free shuttle buses operating to the town centre. When parking in these car parks please take note of where you have parked and the colour of your car park.

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Traffic Management Plan 4th – 11th of August 2024

  • Red – Town Centre Roads/Streets to be closed from 10.00am to 4.00am the following day.
  • Wexford Bridge to be closed to private vehicles from 10.00am to 4.00am the following day.
  • Redmond Square – limited access for public transport & access to supermarket only.
  • Blue Routes / Soft Closure – restricted access.
  • Green Routes/Safe Routes – routes for use by emergency services.
  • Black arrows – temporary one-way system.
TFI Local Link Wexford, Bus Éireann

Bus Éireann will be operating an additional 11pm service on route 2 corridor serving all stops to Dublin City (Busaras) from 4th to 11th August inclusive.

Operating up to 5 times daily this new route serves the areas of Glyn, Killurin, Ballyhogue, Bree and Enniscorthy.  For details see www.locallinkwexford.ie

Wexford to/from Rosslare Strand & Harbour via Tagoat

Expressway Route 2 to/from Dublin

Bus Éireann will be operating an additional 11pm service on route 2 corridor serving all stops to Dublin City (Busaras) from 4th to 11th August inclusive. The PSO services are operating from Redmond square and are on the Bus Éireann website.

11 services per day in each direction and an additional 4 services operating Monday to Friday. See www.expressway.ie

Wexford Bus  (commercial operator)

While travelling around Wexford town, Wexford Bus operates 2 bus routes in Wexford town connecting the town with Clonard and Drinagh.
For the duration of the Fleadh, Wexford Bus will be operating these free of charge, operating an amended route due to closure of the Quay see www.wexfordbus.com

Bus services provided by private Commerical Bus Operator Wexford Bus  offer a variety of arrival and departure times. Wexford Bus does accept TFI Leap Card. Avail of 30% discounts and up to 50% discounts for Young Adult (19-25) and Student Leap Card holders.
