The Dublin Pride Parade goes from O’Connell Street to Merrion Square and will mark the 50th anniversary of the first Dublin Pride March and Parade!

The Parade starts at noon, and it takes about 45 minutes to complete the full route. However, it is a pretty big parade so it can take about 90 minutes for everyone to start moving depending on their position.

LUAS:

The Pride Parade on Saturday 29 June will result in changes to tram services.

On the Green Line, there will be no service between St. Stephen’s Green and Dominick from 09:40 to 17:00. Trams will only run between Brides Glen and St. Stephen’s Green, and between Broombridge and Dominick. On the Red Line, there will be no service between Smithfield and Connolly/The Point from approximately 10:00 to 14:30. Trams will only run between Tallaght/Saggart and Smithfield.

During the parade trams will be parked in the City Centre and will immediately go into service once the parade is over.

Free Festival

A free festival of LGBTQ+ community and culture will take place in Merrion Square Park from 1.00pm-6.00pm on Saturday June 29th.

Traffic Management Plan

  • Local signed diversions will be put in place.
  • Traffic on North Wall Quay wishing to travel west on the north quays will be diverted via Guild Street/Seville Place/Portland Row/North Circular Road/Dorset Street/Bolton Street/King Street North and Queen Street.
  • Traffic on Wolfe Tone Quay wishing to travel east on the North quays will be diverted via Blackhall Place/Stoneybatter/Manor Street/Prussia Street/North Circular Road/Portland Row/Seville Place/ and Guild Street.
  • Traffic on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay wishing to travel on the South Quays to the city centre will be diverted via Cardiff Lane/Macken Street/Grand Canal Street Lower/Grand Canal Street Upper/Haddington Road/Leeson Street and Stephen’s Green.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

Public Transport and Road Diversions

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail:

Iarnrod Eireann - Irish Rail icon

Irish Rail will operate a late-night service from Dublin to Cork with a link from Limerick Junction to Limerick. This service will depart Heuston Station at 00:40 on the 30th of June.

Irish Rail will also have crowd control measures in place in Dublin City Centre stations to ensure capacity is maximised on DART and Commuter trains.

LUAS:

Please note the following change to Luas Green and Red Line tram services on Sat 29th Jun to accommodate the Dublin Pride Parade taking place in the city centre:

Green Line– no service between St. Stephen’s Green and Dominick from 9:40 AM to 5 PM Trams will only run between Brides Glen and St. Stephen’s Green, and between Broombridge and Dominick.

Red Line– no service between Smithfield and Connolly/The Point from approximately 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Trams will only run between Tallaght/Saggart and Smithfield.

Accessibility Buses

The festival organisers in 2023  had a number of buses and vehicles in the Parade for those who liked to take part in the Parade but  needed some support. Further detials will be available at the DublinPride website, closer to the event date.

Dublin City Council advises that Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.
