Dublin’s first Bike Week by Night event is an exclusive Irish screening of a captivating documentary that explores cycling as more than transport—it’s a journey!
The Film >> The Song Cycle
Musician and filmmaker Nick Kelly sets out to cycle from his home in Ireland to the Glastonbury Festival, carrying all his gear on his bike and playing in pubs and clubs along the way. He’s accompanied by his easy-going musical partner Seán Millar, who travels by bus to join Nick onstage each evening, and by intrepid cameraman Céin O’Brien who films the agony and ecstasy of the odyssey. Risking life, limb and dignity in a funny, thought-provoking story about Mother Nature, Father Time and Brothers on the Road.
The Song Cycle premiered at the 2024 Galway Film Fleadh where it won Best Independent Film and Audience Choice at the 2024 IFI Documentary Festival.
There will be a curated panel of thought leaders— in a pre-screening chat, sparking conversation on how Dublin can evolve into a more liveable, community orientated, cycling city. As well as a Musical Bike Bop that will arrive at Meeting House Square at 9:30pm
