Barrow Navigation Engineering Heritage Cycle Event

May 11 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The Barrow Canal Blueway Engineering Heritage Cycle Event takes place at 2pm-4pm on Sunday 11 May as part of Bike Week 2025 in County Kildare.

The cycle event will commence at Lock 22 Fieghcullen on the Barrow Blueway between Robertstown & Rathangan and includes a cycle along the Barrow Blueway which connects the Grand Canal at Roberstown to the Barrow Navigation at Athy, in County Kildare, with a talk about the construction of the Barrow Blueway in the 18th century.

The Barrow Blueway Engineering Heritage Cycle Event on the afternoon of Sunday 11 May promises to be a very interested cycle event for those interested in visiting our blueways cycle amenities and appreciating the engineering contribution of those who built this important transport link for barge transport in the 18th century.
